Froehliche Weihnachten bei Liems

Heiligabend bei den Liems: Yulia, Nico, Tasya und Leo haben uns eingeladen, mit Ihnen zu feiern. Zuerst ging es in den katholischen Weihnachtsgottesdienst mit ca. 1500 Menschen. Die Kirche war so voll, dass rundherum 10 Stuhlreihen mit Leinwaenden und TVs wie in einem Stadion aufgestellt worden waren...und jeder hat am Abendmahl teilnehmen koennen!

Auf dem Weg nach Hause sind wir noch bei Nicos Mutter vorbei, um ihr, Keng Sin (Nicos Bruder) und Martha (Keng Sins Frau) noch frohe Weihnachten zu wuenschen. Schliesslich zu Hause haben wir das herrliche Buffet genossen, das Yulia aufgetischt hat! Was ich als besonders schoen empfand: Nachbarn und Freunde haben mitgefeiert, es war also nicht so wie in D, wo jede Familie im engsten Kreise fuer sich feiert. Und schliesslich....Bescherung!! :)

Christmas Eve at Liems': Yulia, Nico, Tasya and Leo invited us to celebrate Christmas together with them. In the afternoon we went to the Catholic church service with approx. 1500 people. The church was so crowded that they provided 10 additional rows of seats surrounding the whole building...but everybody was able to attend the lord's supper though!

On our way home we stopped by at the house of Nico's mother and wished her, Keng Sin and Martha merry Christmas. Afterwards we went home and enjoyed the delicious buffet Yulia had prepared. What I experienced at very nice: Christmas eve-celebration was different than in Germany, where all the families gather separately. Over here neighbours and friends were also invited! And finally...presents unwrapping! :)
